KAWAHIRA

A man who lives in the future at a real estate firm that belonged to an old lady Haru knew in the past. He is constantly referred to in earlier episodes as a frequent customer of Adult I-Pin's ramen delivery service, but makes his first appearance when Tsuna and company are trying to hide from the Six Funeral Wreaths. He possesses a ring that can create strong illusions and he also has the ability to produce and control a killing intent, in order to lure away enemies searching his place. He does not outwardly state his true motives but claims that Tsuna and his friends owe him one for his help.

HANA KUROKAWA

Hana Kurokawa (黒川 花 Kurokawa Hana) is a classmate of Tsuna and Kyoko's friend. She appears more observant and thoughtful than most of the other characters. Though she does not know the truth, she remains suspicious of Tsuna's and his friends' activities, even in the future. She has a crush on the 15-year-old Lambo. At the same time she hates children (especially the child form Lambo), to the point where she gets hives when she gets annoyed by them. In the future, her adult self gives the past's Kyoko a message from the adult Ryohei.

NANA SAWADA

Nana Sawada (沢田 奈々 Sawada Nana) is Tsuna's mother, who, despite caring deeply for him, has fairly little belief in her son succeeding in life. She helps feed all the people that are presently living in her house and does not see anything strange with any of them. She seems to be unaware of the fact that both her husband and her son are part of the Mafia, but is aware they are both up to something dangerous. She is voiced by Rika Fukami in the anime.

FUUTA

Fuuta (フゥ太 Fūuta) is a young boy who ranks people by their abilities in a book half his own height. He has an extremely wide range of knowledge on thousands of people and is considered to be a valuable informant for the Mafia, sometimes being paid insane amounts of money for a copy of certain rankings, but due to this, he is often chased by the Mafia. When he ranks people, gravity around him becomes distorted, making objects around him float, and images of stars and galaxies appear in his eyes. It is unknown how he actually gathers his information, some rumours say he talks to a ranking star, and his rankings do become skewed when it rains. He also has to be looking at the person to determine their rankings. He calls Tsuna his big brother referring to Tsuna as Tsuna-ni, and starts living in his house.
In the future, after gathering information with Bianchi, Fuuta, who now carries a suitcase rather than a book, returns to Japan with crucial information about the Millefiore Family. Fuuta also reveals that he was Lambo's guardian until three years before Tsuna's arrival in the future, and prefers that Lambo not be endangered.

I-PIN

I-Pin (イーピン Īpin) is a 5-year-old assassin from Hong Kong. She is regularly transformed into her 15-year-old self by way of Lambo's Ten-Year Bazooka. The 15-year-old "Adult I-Pin" is now fluent in Japanese, and despite the fact that she is one of the most promising young assassins, she works part-time at a Chinese Restaurant ten years later in order to earn money for college tuition, though she still retains her skills. I-Pin's main ability is the usage of Gyoza-Ken, which combines her martial arts abilities with special gyoza buns laced with the scent of garlic, the latter of which numbs the brain and forces the muscles to involuntarily move on their own. Her most destructive ability is the "Pinzu-Time Bomb", activated whenever I-Pin expresses extreme shyness. Pin-numbers (such as those used in mahjong) appear on her forehead, counting down until it turns her into a human bomb that can create a small crater with its destruction. Due to her near-sightedness, she sees Lambo as the broccoli monster, and often beats him up. She also has a crush on Kyoya Hibari, who bears a striking resemblance to her master, and often activates her Pinzu-Timed Super Explosion after seeing him. She is voiced by Li-Mei Chiang in the anime.

DOCTOR SHAMAL

Dr. Shamal (Dr. シャマル Dr. Shamaru) is a crazed womanizer who hits on every cute woman he sees, though often unsuccessfully. He is said to be hiding in Japan after being charged in his own country for putting the moves on 2082 women simultaneously, one of which being a queen. He is both a skilled doctor, albeit one that refuses to treat men, and a renowned assassin known as "Trident Shamal" who was even asked to join the Varia. His primary means of combat stem from the 666 pills he carries that contain trident mosquitoes, his own breed of genetically-altered mosquitoes named for their trident-shaped stingers that infect his enemies with deadly diseases. He claims to be infected with 666 diseases that have no effect on him due to the negating effects of each disease; if he has a disease that rapidly decreases body temperature, then he has another one that increases it, and so on. Shamal also happens to be the one that introduced Hayato Gokudera to bombs when he used to work for Gokudera's family. He agrees to become Gokudera's home tutor during the Vongola Tournament, but only after Gokudera learns that protecting his own life is just as important as defending those around him. He is voiced by Toshinobu Katsuya in the anime.

HARU MIURA

Haru Miura (三浦 ハル Miura Haru) is an eccentric and peppy girl who has a tendency to jump to wild conclusions, and has various odd costumes that she designs herself, as well as a myriad of wild habits. Despite this, she attends Midori Middle School, one of the toughest elite schools to get into in the area. She initially adores Reborn, but after she is saved from drowning by Tsuna, she diverted her adoration towards him instead. She loves and is overprotective of children and is usually the one to babysit Lambo and I-Pin with Kyoko.According to Tsuna, adult Haru has become more feminine, but her way of thinking is still the same. She is voiced by Hitomi Yoshida in the anime.

KYOKO SASAGAWA

Kyoko Sasagawa (笹川 京子 Sasagawa Kyōko) is a girl Tsuna has a crush on, and is in the same grade as he. She is somewhat air headed, and initially thinks all the events surrounding Tsuna are part of a game. Nonetheless, she is very kindhearted and cheerful, and loves her older brother Ryohei, whom she often worries about. She, along with Haru, often enjoys babysitting Lambo and I-Pin. When she takes the Dying Will Shot, her form is more quiet and polite.Though she is not fully aware of how much Tsuna likes her, she thinks of him as a good friend. She first sees Tsuna in action after being sent nine years and ten months into the future right when her future self was being attacked by Millefiore members. Growing more suspicious of the others' actions, she and Haru spy on them and learns the truth about them and the Mafia.  She is voiced by Yūna Inamura in the anime.

BIANCHI

Bianchi (ビアンキ Bianki) is Gokudera's half-sister; they share the same father. Bianchi, known as "Poison Scorpion Bianchi" in the Mafia underground, specializes in poison cooking. Since she, herself, is immune to her own cooking, she does not see anything wrong with the food she gives others. Even though they seem to have a strained relationship, she has shown great concern for Gokudera if he is injured, fighting, or suffering from stomach aches, which she does not realize are caused by her. Before, she was in love in her ex-boyfriend named Romeo, who looks very similar to Adult Lambo. Whenever Adult Lambo appears, she mistakes him for Romeo, and uses her Poison Cooking to destroy him. Currently, she is in love with Reborn, who was a former associate of hers, and wants to kill Tsuna to free up Reborn's schedule, though refuses to kill him for the benefit of others. Bianchi always states that "Love" is the strongest force of all.
In the future, Bianchi returns with crucial information about the Millefiore Family after her travels with Fuuta. She tries to train Gokudera on how to control the rings and boxes, and is shown to be able to summon scorpions which emanate the Dying Will Flame, called Scorpione De Tempesta (Storm Scorpions). She is voiced by Rie Tanaka in the anime.

CERVELLO

The Cervello (チェルベッロ Cheruberro) is an organization whose representatives consist of masked women who all seem to look exactly the same and whose names are not known. When one member is beaten or killed, another member can immediately take their place. The organization also appears to possess illusionists. They are proclaimed as the judges for the Vongola Tournament under the (fake) IX's direct orders. In the future, they are working with or in conjunction with Shoichi Irie, and appear to be part of the Millefiore Family's White Spell squad. During the Six Funeral Wreaths's battle against Tsuna's group, the Cervello are appointed as the judges.

BASIL PICTURES

OREGANO

Oregano is a member of CEDEF and therefore is a subordinate of Iemitsu Sawada. In her first appearance, she makes a report to Iemitsu as to the situation regarding the CEDEF and Varia. The Varia had located the base of the CEDEF, but "all 6 members" had escaped and were making their way to their current location, Vongola HQ. This implies that there are 8 or 9 members of the CEDEF in total, as Basil was in Japan and Iemitsu was not in the base when it was attacked. Next, she fought alongside Turmeric and Lal Mirch when they invaded Vongola HQ so Iemitsu could talk to and, if necessary, rescue the Vongola Boss. She and Turmeric found the censored Mosca plans and discovered that they sent one to the Varia. After they met back up with Iemitsu, the fake Vongola IX gave them enough information to realize that the real Vongola IX was in fact inside the Gola Mosca that was sent to the Varia. Unfortunately, they were too late to stop the Cloud Ring Battle.

TURMERIC

Turmeric is a member of CEDEF, and therefore is a subordinate of Iemitsu Sawada. He fought alongsideOregano and Lal Mirch when CEDEF invaded Vongola HQ so Iemitsu could talk to and, if necessary, rescue the Ninth. He read the censored Mosca plans and knew that the Italian Military sold some of their weapon plans to the Mafia, and discovered that they have sent one to the Varia. After they met back up with Iemitsu, the fake Vongola IX gave them enough information to realize that the real Vongola IX was in fact inside the Gola Mosca that was sent to the Varia, because the Mosca feeds on Dying Will Flames. Unfortunately, they were too late to stop the Cloud Guardian battle.

LAL MIRCH

In the Future,Lal Mirch(ラル·ミルチ, Raru Miruchi)comes off as a no-nonsense type of person. She outright tells Tsuna that he isn't progressing as fast as she'd hoped, and then gives him up as a student. On an occasion before that, while instructing Tsuna and his Rain and Storm Guardians about Rings and Boxes, she attacked Tsuna and Yamamoto when she felt that she was losing their attention.
Lal sports blue hair and a distinctive scar on her right cheek. She is first seen in infant form wearing combat gear, a crimson cape and an infared visor. Lal also dons her corrupt Arcobaleno pacifier on her chest like Reborn. Her adult form, first seen upon Tsuna's arrival in the future, is far more developed. She wears a brown tanktop, tight blue shorts and a tan cape. She stills has her visor and dons a gorilla mask on her shoulder (presumably as shoulder armor).

BASIL

Basil(バジル, Baziru) is a member of CEDEF and works under Tsuna's dad, Iemitsu. Basil is an extremely skilled fighter and is very loyal to Iemitsu and his son, Tsuna. Because of his loyalty, Iemitsu trusts him enough to send him off to extremely difficult missions. He is introduced in the early Varia Arc and turns into a reoccurring character, frequently showing up throughout the series. Basil has dirty blond hair and is of Italian descent. It seems that he learned Japanese from a very old source because he speaks with outdated terms, equivalents of "Thou," "Thee," and "Thy" in English. He carries around some type of Triangular blade which could be named a Katar of some sort; he uses to battle with. Basil is the first person in the series, other than Tsuna, to go into Hyper Dying Will Mode. Iemitsu, his master gave him the Dying Will Pills that Basil uses to go into Dying Will Mode and later were given to Tsuna as a gift after the Varia Arc, before going back to Italy with Lancia. His Blade and Tsuna's X-Gloves may have originated from the same material, seeing as Basil is able to utilize his Rain Flame to light it. He made a big difference when helping Tsuna train before Tsuna's fight with Xanxus. Toward the end it would seem that Basil and Tsuna created a strong bond between them.

IEMITSU SAWADA

Iemitsu Sawada (沢田 家光, Iemitsu Sawada) is the father of 10th Generation Vongola Boss, Tsunayoshi Sawada. He is also the leader of the CEDEF, Basil's master, and the External Advisor to the IX Generation's Vongola Boss, Timoteo. Iemitsu, unlike the rest of his family, possesses blond hair and a muscular build. He is a very happy-go-lucky guy and loves to drink, sleep, and dream of his wife, Nana. When he left home, he wanted Nana to tell Tsuna that he'd gone away and "become a star," an euphemism for dying. His cover story was that he was working traffic at construction sites, but he was really away on Vongola business. His weapon appears to be a pickaxe, and he is seen being able to dig large holes in extremely short amounts of time, shown when he saved Gokudera from accidentally fatally blowing himself up. It revealed that he's the one who offered Mukuro the opportunity to become Tsuna's Mist Guardian in exchange for Ken and Chikusa's safety.
Since Dying Will Flames seem to run in families and Iemitsu is related both to the first Vongola Boss and Tsuna, it is highly likely that Iemitsu has a Sky Flame. While he may have the qualifications to be the next Vongola Boss, Iemitsu joined the CEDEF, which is both part of, and yet separate from, the main family, and therefore makes him ineligible to be a candidate for the position of Boss of the Vongola. According to Timoteo, the Vongola Nono, he was called the "Young Lion of Vongola."

VARIA PICTURES

TYR

Tyr was the previous Sword Emperor and Varia’s Leader before Xanxus; however, he was defeated in a battle with Squalo. With this, Squalo was declared the new Sword Emperor, and to secure his seat, he defeated 100 people in a row, where every battle was filmed and the set was later given to Takeshi Yamamoto. He had only one hand, and because of this, Squalo cut off his own hand as to understand Tyr's fighting style.

FLAN

Flan is the newest officer member of the Varia in the Future who uses the 666 Hell Ring. Introduced during the Varia attack on a Millefiore base in Italy, Flan is Mammon's replacement as the group's Illusionist and is thus forced to wear a large frog hat to symbolize this. He has a calm demeanor despite being very antagonistic towards the other members of the Varia, verbally attacking them. Although this has not been explained, it seems that he has a rare Genetic disorder which gives him the ability to resist pain. He has been stabbed multiple times by Belphegor but did not reveal to have felt any pain. According to Reborn, his profile is top secret. He is scouted to Varia, nearly kidnapped by Belphegor and Squalo. It's revealed later that his master is Mukuro Rokudo, who was released from the Vendicare prison thanks to his help. We are also led to assume that his Illusions are some of the strongest because he was able to fool the Vendice Guards who claim that "there are only three Illusionists in this world who have the ability to deceive our eyes."

GOLA MOSCA

Gola Mosca is a killing machine that was sold to the Varia by the Italian Underground Economy. Mosca was originally a weapon built by the Italian Military, but construction on the project was halted and covered up until the Vongola began working on it themselves. The Military stopped developing the Mosca weapon because it required a human life force that could use a strong Dying Will Flame for its own power. Xanxus placed Vongola IX within Gola Mosca to act as the machine's power source, then gave Gola Mosca the position as the Varia's Cloud Guardian. During the Cloud Guardian Battle in the Vongola Tournament, Gola Mosca is immediately ripped apart by Hibari. However, when Hibari is provoked and fails to allow Xanxus to manually turn Gola Mosca off, the machine goes berserk and fires missiles and bullets wildly. Eventually, Tsuna slices it open, stopping its rampage, but when IX falls out of Gola Mosca's remains, Xanxus frames Tsuna as having attempted to kill the man..

MAMMON

Viper is the holder of the Indigo pacifier. He is a member of the elite assassination team, the Varia, under the name Mammon. Known as the Arcobaleno's best spellcaster, Viper has the ability to cast illusions, as well as being able to locate any person by sneezing into a piece of paper (he carries a roll of paper with him); the spit or mucus that sticks to the paper shows a map leading to the desired person. He also has a black frog named Fantasma that lies on top of his head. By turning into a yellow ouroboros (a snake, devouring it's own tail and also an alchemist's symbol), which forms into a "halo" above him, Fantasma can give Mammon the ability to fly in combat. He claims to have been trying to break the Arcobaleno curse, and had sealed his pacifier so that other Arcobaleno cannot sense him with the Mammon Chain, which also seals the power of rings and boxes and such. The chain is replaced, at least by the Vongolas, by the cap that conceals the rings powers the same way as the chains.

BELPHEGOR

Belphegor is an assassin working for the Vongola's independent assassination squad, the Varia. He is known as 'Prince the Ripper' (Purinzu za Rippa), and is often referred to as Bel. He has a crescent-shaped birthmark on the right side of his stomach that his elder identical twin brother, Rasiel also has but mirrored. It is stated in the anime that Belphegor is inferior to his twin brother in almost every way, whether it be studying or racing, causing them to detest each other. At age 8, he stabbed Rasiel, presumably to death. However this was not the case, as Rasiel was protected by his fake Mare ring and was not murdered. Belphegor was the storm half-ring bearer of the Varia during the Vongola Ring conflict. He represents the sin of sloth and is prince of an unknown country. He is known as a battle genius, but his abilities only truly present themselves when he sees his own "royal" blood, which reminds him of the time he stabbed his brother. His eyes are never shown in the manga, But at Reborn volume 24, Lussuria says that his eyes are both cool and loyal. His Box Weapon is Visone Tempesta.

LEVIATHAN

Leviathan is known as 'Levi' for short, is an extremely loyal subordinate to Xanxus, so much that he only ever fights for his approval. Reborn said that once he chooses a target, whether it be a man, woman, or child, he would beat them mercilessly. He is also extremely zealous, showing up extremely (2 hours) early to fights. It is said that his speed in accomplishing his work is the best in the Varia. His Box Weapon is Torpedine Fulmine.

LUSSURIA

Lussuria wears an open Varia trench coat and has brown hair with a side part of green hair. He has an extremely muscular build, and his favored battle style is Muay Thai. Lussuria has a metal plate over his left knee used to block physical attacks and cause his opponents to heavily damage themselves. He habitually wears dark sunglasses and his coat has a large orange fur around the hood. In the Future Arc, Lussuria's appearance has changed, he wears the new Varia uniform and has a red Mohawk and wears a Varia ring on his hand. It is highly likely that Lussuria has difficulty in his eyesight since he states "I can't see" without his glasses. His Box Weapon is Pavone Del Sereno.

SUPERBIA SQUALO

Superbia Squalo is an assassin and the second-in-command of the Varia, the Vongola Family's independent assassin squad. He is most notable for his long silver hair and is always seen wearing his Varia uniform in both the anime and the manga. He is a very loud character and has a tendency to shout "VOOOI!!!" (the Italian version of the plural "You") before saying something or while in battle. Squalo, as revealed in the Rain Ring Battle against Takeshi Yamamoto, cut off his left hand and replaced it with a mechanized sword. His reason for doing that was so he could better understand how the previous Sword Emperor, Tyr, (also the previous boss of the Varia) felt and battled since he did not have a left hand either. Squalo also seems to be quite perceptive, seeing right through Genkishi's Mist Illusions when the man tried to fake a loss. His Box Weapon is Grande Squalo Pioggia.

VARIA

The Varia are the Vongola Family's elite, independent assassination team. They are composed of genius assassins who work in the deepest recesses of the Mafia. Each member takes on missions that are said to be impossible to accomplish by humans; however, they do not accept a mission unless they believe there is a 90% chance of success. Those that see them work often say that their high level assassination skills are demonic.
Despite lacking loyalty and respect for other members, they are extremely loyal to their leader, Xanxus. The Varia also appear to have more than fifty subordinates ranged under the command of the main members. The Varia is apparently reclusive, only showing themselves after Iemitsu Sawada disappeared. During the Future Arc, a 32 member Varia squad led by Xanxus attack a Millefiore base in Italy in accordance with the Vongola's plan to eliminate the Millefiore.
Each of their names (Latin names) matches one of the Seven Deadly Sins or the respective demons of the sins, excluding Flan, as shown below:
  • Lucifer - Pride - Superbia: Superbia Squalo
  • Mammon - Greed - Avarizia: Mammon
  • Asmodeus - Lust - Lussuria: Lussuria
  • Leviathan - Envy - Invidia: Leviathan
  • Beelzebub - Gluttony - Gola: Gola Mosca
  • Satan - Wrath - Ira: Xanxus + Flame of Wrath
  • Belphegor - Sloth - Accidia: Belphegor

XANXUS

Xanxus is the current leader of the Varia and Vongola IX's adopted son. He was born into poverty with just his mother, who was mentally ill. His mother discovered his Dying Will Flame when he was very young and brought him to Vongola IX. When he and his mother confronted the 9th, he took Xanxus and placed his scarf around him agreeing that he was indeed his son even though he had never seen this woman before nor her son. Xanxus has a fierce belief in the Vongola family's supremacy, and claims that even during internal conflicts, the Vongola will stand united against foreign forces. During the Varia Arc, he and Tsuna battle for the Sky Vongola Ring plus the position of the 10th Vongola Boss, and loses. Later in the Future Arc, he remains the leader of the Varia and leads a raid against the Millefiore, taking their headquarters. He battles against one of the Fake Funeral Wreaths as well, showing he has grown much stronger in the future. His Box Weapon is Ligre Tempesta Di Cielo.

LAMPO

Lampo(ランポウ, Ranpou) was the young son of a land proprietor who is arrogant and spoiled to a fault, he was once described as being ignorant about human society. He has the bad habit of glorifying himself and looking down on others and wants people to go along with his selfish desires. That being said, he seems to respect Vongola Primo, to the point of being unable to defy or refuse a request from him.
The first man to take up the title of Lightning Guardian of the Vongola Famiglia, he has a cowardly nature in a way similar to the young Lambo. Still, he is surprisingly strong and at one occasion Primo entrusted the role of leading the frontlines during a battle. This contradiction got him renowned as "the thunderbolt that conceals a fierce blow".

DAEMON SPADE

Deamon Spade(D・スペード, Deimon Supedo) is the most shady character among the members of the first generation family. His beliefs and motivations are a complete mismatch with the rest and his loyalty is dubious at best. His creed is that the Vongola should be a heartless organization that subjugates everything with force in order to properly lead the mafia world. At one point, he betrayed Vongola Primo and forced his resignation from the position of boss due Primo's inability to overcome his softness. Afterwards, he was the only one to remain behind in the Vongola and eventually became Vongola Secondo's Guardian. Still, Primo continued to hold Deamon dear as one of his Guardians and Deamon himself remained somewhat attached to his relationship with Primo and the others, as he never let go of the pocket watch that contained an inscription with the vow of friendship they all shared.
The first man to take up the title of Mist Guardian of the Vongola Famiglia and so far the only one known to maintain the position of Guardian for two generations in a row. He was already an infamous individual by the time of the formation of the Vongola Famiglia. The legend was that those who Deamon glared at with his monocle would be cursed and appeared floating on the sea in the next day. Considering his reputation and what is known about the make up of the first-generation family, it is safe to assume that Deamon was a mafioso even before joining the Vongola. He was renowned as "the phantom whose substance cannot be grasped".

ALAUDE

Alaude(アラウディ, Araudi) was a solitary individual who once stood at the top of the secret intelligence service of a certain country. However, he liked to remain alone without indulging to others and never kept his pace with the rest of the Famiglia. However, it has been said that, on the occasion when Vongola Primo's justice overlapped with his own, Alaude defeated more enemies than anybody else and was more considerate towards allies than anybody else.
The first man to take up the title of Cloud Guardian of the Vongola Famiglia, similarly to how Hibari don't like when people get into groups, Alaude too disliked associating himself with others due feeling bound. That being said, he was a serious character that acknowledged his responsibilities as a Vongola Guardian. He was renowned as "the drifting cloud that goes down on his own path without being caught by anything".

KNUCKLE

Knuckle(ナックル, Nakkuru) was a Catholic priest that hid a dark past under his friendly appearance. In the past, he was once a undefeated boxer who wished for the title of strongest. However, his excessive strength caused him to kill an opponent by accident during a match. Filled with regret, he sealed away his fists, never again stepping inside a ring, and sought repentance by working to serve God. At one time however, during a moment of crisis for the Vongola Famiglia, he gave himself a time-limit of three minutes and saved the Famiglia with his fists.
The first man to take up the title of Sun Guardian of the Vongola Famiglia, just like how Ryohei likes to invoke the word "極限" (reads as "kyokugen" and roughly translates as "maximum"), Knuckle too repeated the word "究極" (reads as "kyuukyoku" and translates as "ultimate") quite often. He was renowned as "the sun that brightly illuminates the firmament".
